About Statzup

  • Statzup was founded in 2013 and its first online fantasy game for the Hungarian football league was launched soon after with support from the Hungarian Football Federation (MLSZ) and its main sponsors.
  • The game turned out to be a success and Statzup was named European Startup of the Month in May 2014 by Microsoft Europe.
  • In late 2014, Statzup launched its Facebook game, TheFantasyFootball, that reached over 1.4 million registered users from 186 countries by 2016.
  • Since 2015, Statzup has been a member of Fantasy Sports Trade Association (FSTA), the first such company from Eastern Europe.
  • Targeting primarily the Americas, Statzup launched its daily fantasy soccer game TheSix in 2016.
  • Statzup entered the Chinese market with a set of fantasy games and related products for mobile in 2017. Months later, the company obtained the Controlled Skilled Game License of the Malta Gaming Authority.
  • Footy Cards, a trading card mobile game was launched as Statzup’s side project for the CONIFA World Football Cup 2018.
  • In a partnership with Szerencsejáték Zrt., the market leader gambling service provider in Hungary, Statzup launched League of Managers, a set of daily fantasy sports products for the Hungarian market in 2018.

Investments

Statzup’s seed round was financed by Day One Capital with a $270,000 cash injection in 2014. Day One was able to double their investment when exited one and a half year later.
Statzup’s Series ‘A’ round was financed by Valor Capital Fund Management Ltd., completing in 2016. Valor Capital invested $1,2 million in Statzup.
